SPECIAL REQUESTS

Region 74 is a large region - serving almost 1000 players in approximately 100 teams each year. In accordance with the AYSO philosophy of "Balanced Teams", we make new teams every year based on the enrollment in each division each year, as well as the coaches that volunteer each year. We balance based on years of experience, location, and our best knowledge of the players' skills. 

We understand the desire to request specific players, coaches, and practice nights, and in order to be accommodating within reason, as well as be respectful of the time of the board members who put together teams, will take special requests within the following parameters:

Special Request Guidelines:

All requests are requests, not guaranteed. We will do our best if the parameters below are followed.

For the highest chance of a request being granted, register before August 1. Requests made with a registration after August 1 are less likely to be granted as we will have begun forming teams and are less able to accommodate requests.

All requests MUST be noted in the friend request and practice day request fields in the player registration. With the volume of email board members of a large region receive, an emailed request cannot be guaranteed.

Players may request ONE friend to be on their team. More than one will not be honored. 

Coaches may request a maximum of 2 players other than their own child to be on their team, as long as it does not upset the balance of players on that team compared to the others in the division. 

Requests for a specific coach are generally not honored outside of extenuating circumstances on a case-by-case basis.

Obvious efforts to circumvent these parameters e.g. Friend A requests Friend B, who requests Friend C, who requests Friend D, whose parent is the coach; or Friends A, B, and C, all request Friend D, whose parent is the coach, will not be honored.

Requests for the practice to be on a specific night of the week will be honored as much as possible.

There will be no changes to teams after coaches have begun receiving rosters other than extreme circumstances granted only on a case-by-case basis.
