AYSO Region 74 - Portage, Schoolcraft, and Vicksburg

PORTAGE SOCCER COMPLEX RULES: No pets, no bikes, no roller blades, no skateboards, no scooters, no smoking or tobacco of any kind, and no alcohol. Please pass this information along to family and friends who may also come to the games - particularly NO PETS other than service animals. Please dispose of all trash properly. We are VERY lucky to have such a beautiful soccer complex to use; we expect that everyone will work together to keep it that way.

PARKING: Portage Soccer Complex is a large facility and it can take up to 15 minutes from when you pull into the drive to when you arrive at the correct field.

TRAFFIC FLOW OUT OF COMPLEX: Traffic can get congested when exiting the complex following games, especially turning left to go to Sprinkle. Please note an alternate route to Sprinkle Rd is to turn right out of the complex and then take an immediate left onto Quality Way, and then another left onto Environmental Dr, which will take you out to Sprinkle Rd.  You can also turn right out of the complex and go to 25th St, turn right and that eventually turns into Centre Ave and will cross Sprinkle Rd.

PLAN TO PLAY: Always plan to play at your designated game time. We may delay the start of games for thunder/lightning, but otherwise we generally only cancel for thunder/lightning or snow completely covering the fields. We usually do not cancel games until game time because we are unable to reschedule games due to field availability.  Our full weather policy can be found on here. All weather updates are posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as sent to coaches.

FIELD SET UP: Both teams will sit on the inside touchline of the field, and spectators for both sides will sit on the outside touchline of the field. Per AYSO national regulations, no spectators, coaches, or players are allowed to sit along the goal lines.
..
DRESS: It always seems to feel 15 degrees colder and windier at the soccer complex than it does at home. We advise layers for cool fall mornings and evenings. The jersey MUST be worn ON TOP of all layers. Shin guards MUST be worn by ALL players UNDER the soccer socks. We have extra shin guards at the pavilion to lend if necessary. Casts/splints MAY NOT be worn during play, even if wrapped, padded, etc. This is AYSO national policy and is NOT negotiable.

HAIR ACCESSORIES / JEWELRY: No jewelry OF ANY KIND may be worn during practices or games for the safety of all players. Earrings MUST be removed, NOT taped, per AYSO national policy with NO exceptions. Hard hair accessories may be allowed if they are close to the head and less than 2" in diameter. Long hair MUST be secured in a ponytail.

BOARD MEMBERS: We are incredibly lucky in Region 74 to have an AWESOME regional board. The amount of work that these volunteers have put in preparation for our fall season cannot be measured. You can identify board members at the soccer complex by the bright yellow, pink, and blue shirts/jackets, and they would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
